Dave Strider is one of the main characters in Homestuck, and the third kid to be introduced. He is obsessed with being cool and ironic. When the name "Insufferable Prick" was suggested, he slashed the entry box in half with a katana because he's just way too cool to put up with that kind of bullshit.

Dave was raised by his Bro who was ectobiologically his father. It was suggested in the author commentary of Homestuck book three that Dave was physically and emotionally abused by him, with evidence such as in Act 3 where he was starved by his Bro among other things. Eventually, he exposits about this during Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 5, confirming these suspicions.

Ever since I got into Homestuck in 2019, I have loved Dave strider. There were a few times when I wished so hard he was real so I could hug him. I never actually made fanart for him excpet for a few quick sketches, but I have a lot of art of him from other people saved somewhere deep in my files... Some will be shared here.

I used to LOVE DaveKat but now I think it's a bit overrated/outplayed; I prefer JohnDave and Coolcat (Dave x Nepeta). (More about shipping near the bottom!!!)
